Jaguar Land Rover Cherry Auto Partnership

Jaguar Land Rover contemplating the introduction of a new brand with Chinese JV partners

Britain’s largest car maker Jaguar Land Rover are in talks with their Chinese joint venture (JV) partners Cherry Auto in establishing a new brand.
This move is part of a global sales strategy being developed by the British manufacturer, in which it seeks to significantly raise its presence in China, the world’s largest car market.

This new brand will be introduced along similar lines to Lynk&Co, the unique start-up brand set up by Volvo and its Chinese parent company Geely in 2016.
It is widely believed that the new brand will be targeting the middle class, with a heavy emphasis on the development of electric drivetrain platforms and in-car connectivity, according to media reports out of China.

Toyota Global introduces the new Rush Crossover

Compact Crossover lovers, you are in for a treat, as Toyota has just unveiled the Latest variant of the Rush.  It sets foot in a very competitive segment with the likes of the Ford Ecosport, Renault Duster and Honda BR-V in Kenya.

Under the bonnet lies a very efficient 77kW/136Nm 1.5-litre four-cylinder DOHC petrol engine, paired to either a 5-speed manual transmission or 4-speed automatic – driving the rear wheels. Inside you will find creature comforts like Climate Control, a decent audio system and satellite navigation.

On the safety front, active safety technologies ABS and EBD help in accident avoidance, while ELR safety belts and dual airbags mitigate chances of injury to the occupants during an accident.

Toyota Kenya will have this vehicle by Q4 2018.
