DT Dobie recently unveiled the revised C-Class range into the Kenyan market. Hot on the heels of the recently launched BMW 3 Series and the Jaguar XE. The refreshed Mercedes Benz C-class comes with a number of significant changes over its predecessor. This is in order, to ensure that it remains the king of the compact executive saloons.
The Mercedes Benz will be powered by several engine derivatives. To begin with, the efficient 1.5L Turbo petrol engine (C180) or a 4.0 Litre twin turbo V8 petrol engine. The 4.0l was initially on the C63 AMG version. The engines will be paired by a 7G/8G automatic gearbox with 4-Matic options on the high spec versions.
In addition, the C Class will also come with new technologies like MBUx display, enhanced safety features such as cross traffic alert and blind spot assist. Prices starts at Ksh 6.5 million shillings.
Toyota Kenya Launches The 2019 RAV 4
As the soft-roader race heats up, Toyota Kenya has just unveiled the 2019 RAV 4 Soft Roader. Built to compete with the likes of the Nissan X-Trail, Honda CRV and the Hyundai Santa Fe.
The new RAV-4 has not only grown in size and stature. Underneath it, utilises the new TNGA scalable chassis architecture by Toyota. This is 44% stiffer than the outgoing mode thereafter, guaranteeing a better ride and handling qualities.
An aspirated 126Kw 2.0 Litre four-cylinder petrol engine will be used to power the Rav4. Paired to it is a 6 speed CVT transmission with all-wheel drive.
Toyota has loaded the new RAV 4 with plenty of kit including radar cruise control, lane keep assist and an autonomous braking system. The retail price isn’t known yet but we estimate it will be around Ksh. 7 Million for the entry-level variant.
