TYDIA Officially Opens Shop In Kenya
CFAO has officially unveiled its tire distribution arm TYDIA in Kenya. Tyre Distribution Africa (TYDIA) was formed as a partnership between CFAO and Michelin tyres. As the motoring industry grows, Kenya imports about 120,000 vehicles annually and presents a ready market for TYDIA.
They will be selling tyres based on the needs of the consumer. E.g for those who want premium tyres, Michelin range would be appropriate. Those inclined towards off-roading then BF Goodrich brand would be ideal and finally, those looking at a good budget tyres, Tigar tyres from Europe will cater to their needs.
TYDIA will use Toyota Kenya’s expansive network to set up retail fitting centres. The first outlet is operational at Toyota Westlands. They expect to expand their business to other towns around the country.
CMC Motors To Open State Of The Art Showroom In March
Local multi-brand distributor CMC Motors will unveil its brand new showroom to the public in March. Set up alongside its corporate headquarters along Lusaka road, the showroom promises to offer unparalleled customer experience. They offer innovative aides like the virtual design studio that will help you choose your preferred interiors for your cars. The showroom will house Ford brand as well as Suzuki and Mazda.
It marks a shift for CMC Motors as they intend to increase their market share in the industry, which has slowed down over the last three years. The multi-million dollar investment will definitely bring customer experience to global standards and it will be worth the wait. Currently, CMC handles also Renault Trucks, Case tractors and John Deere Harvesters.
Isuzu East Africa Begins DMAX Assembly In Kenya
East Africa’s largest vehicle assembler has begun assembly of its best selling pick up, the DMAX. The firm initially assembled the previous generation pick up a few years back until when management decided to supply it from South Africa, due to cheaper manufacturing costs. The reintroduction of the DMax assembly will fall in line with the government’s Big Four Agenda, where manufacturing is a key pillar.
This comes hot on the heels of Toyota Kenya who unveiled the Toyota Hilux assembly line last year at AVA plant Mombasa. The government has been creating favourable investment terms for vehicle manufacturers, meant to provide employment to the youth and provide customers with suitable vehicles.
Isuzu East Africa will build both single and double cab variants and will export the vehicle to greater Eastern Africa. Customers can now enjoy slashed prices and a tropicalised vehicle suitable for the region.
Other players slated to look and in Kenya include Hyundai, Renault and Subaru. Ford will also join in the foray next month as they start assembly of the Ranger pickup, one of the most adored vehicles in the segment.
